Partners in Charity Appeal 2011

We have begun our 2011 Partners In Charity Appeal here at Saint Mary’s.

Through this annual campaign, the Church of Worcester remains able to assist those experiencing hardships, provide hope, comfort and counsel to those in crisis, furnish funds necessary for the formation of future priests and deacons for our parish and inspire our children and adults to embrace our Catholic faith through programs of religious education.

Among the services funded by the Partners In Charity Appeal is Catholic Charities. Catholic Charities helps in many ways. Emergency food assistance. Project Rachel. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners which feed thousands. Working with refugees, immigrants, and those seeking asylum. Tutoring. Mentoring. Medical care. Mercy Center for Developmental Disabilities. Adoptive Parents. Homecare for Elders. Food Pantry. Sheltering the homeless at Youville House. Crozier House for those pursuing sobriety.

The work of Catholic Charities of Worcester is based upon the conviction that every person has the right to life, food, shelter, housing, clothing, and health care. Your gift to Partners in Charity helps support this important work.

In addition to Catholic Charities, Partners in Charity funds seminarian education training and education as well as support for retired priests. Two individuals who are the recipients of assistance from Partners in Charity are Deacon Memo Ochoa and Fr. Jack Kelley. Deacon Memo’s seminary tuition is funded by this campaign as is Fr. Jack’s retirement and health care.

Our parish goal for 2011 is $62,910. Envelopes for making a gift to the Partners in Charity Appeal may be found at the entrances to the church.

Whatever gift you can provide will assure our care for those most in need. Be assured that your help will enable the Church of Worcester to continue our ministries of charity and education. Thank you for helping us continue the legacy of serving those most in need in Central Massachusetts!
