Our Parish Community

Saint Mary Church is a Roman Catholic community of about 1100 households located in the town of Uxbridge, Massachusetts. While most of our parishioners are residents of Uxbridge, a substantial number are residents of neighboring towns and communities. Many of our parishioners have roots in the area that go back to the late 19th and early 20th century. An equally large number of families are recent arrivals. With easy access to Providence, Boston, and Worcester, many of our parishioners are daily commuters to one of these three cities. Our various ministries reflect the diversity of families and age groups that comprise St. Mary’s.

Welcome

We welcome you to the faith community of Saint Mary Parish in Uxbridge. Although we are one of the oldest parishes in central Massachusetts, we are a vibrant, growing community committed to living as disciples of Jesus Christ in the 21st century.

As a Roman Catholic community, the Eucharist is the "source and summit" of our life together as the People of God. Our common prayer, our listening to God’s Word, and the celebration of the Sacraments nourish and sustain our ministries within the church and to the wider world.

Rooted in prayer and striving to be instruments of God’s peace and healing, we seek, despite all our imperfections, to mirror God’s love for the world. Strengthened by such gracious love we seek to welcome all, with open arms and open hearts.

We are pilgrim people seeking to be attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in our time. We welcome you on your own journey of faith. We invite you to join your journey to that of our parish family. Your presence enriches our lives and the journey of life we make together as Christian brothers and sisters.

New Parishioners and Visitors

We welcome you to Saint Mary Parish! If you have been worshipping with us, but have not taken the opportunity to register as a parishioner, we invite you to do so. We would be delighted to answer any questions or share some information about our life together as a parish. It is our hope that Saint Mary’s would become your spiritual home. If you are a one time or occasional visitor, we welcome you to our celebration of the Eucharist. Your presence blesses our gathering in prayer.
